You can forward calls from your Google Voice number to your Abby phone number so Abby can answer and handle calls for your business.
Google Voice requires a verification step before forwarding is complete. During verification, Google sends a code to your Abby phone number. Choose to receive this code as a call, not a text.
Before You Start
Before setting up Google Voice forwarding, make sure you have:
Access to your Google Voice account
Your Abby phone number
Access to the Abby portal so you can review the verification call
You can find your Abby phone number in the bottom left corner of the portal.
Step 1: Add Your Abby Phone Number in Google Voice
To start forwarding calls:
Open Google Voice.
Go to Settings.
Select Linked Numbers.
Add your Abby phone number.
Google Voice will ask you to verify the number before forwarding can be completed.
Step 2: Choose "verify by phone"
When Google Voice asks how to send the verification code, choose to receive the code by call.
Do not choose text verification.
Abby will answer the verification call, and the code will be captured in the call record.
3. Retrieve the Confirmation Code
After the verification call is complete, log in to the Abby portal.
To find the code:
Go to Activity.
Find the Google Voice verification call.
Open the call record.
Review the message, call summary, or transcript.
Copy the verification code provided by Google.
The verification call may take a minute or two to appear in your activity.

Step 4: Enter the Code in Google Voice
Return to Google Voice and enter the verification code.
Once the code is accepted, calls to your Google Voice number can route to Abby.
Step 5: Test Your Setup
After forwarding is verified, call your Google Voice number from another phone.
Confirm that:
Abby answers the call
The greeting sounds correct
The call follows your expected call handling

Troubleshooting
I do not see the verification call in Abby
Wait a few minutes, then refresh your Activity section.
If the call still does not appear, confirm that you entered the correct Abby phone number in Google Voice and try sending the verification call again.

Open the verification call record and check both the call summary and transcript.
If the code is not visible, try sending a new verification call from Google Voice.

Confirm that you entered the correct Abby phone number and selected verification by call, not text.

Check your Google Voice forwarding settings and confirm your Abby phone number is enabled as a linked number.
Then place another test call.
