The Abby Connect AI Receptionist answers incoming calls using conversational AI and follows the call handling rules you configure in your portal.

It can greet callers, ask questions, route calls, take messages, and schedule appointments based on your configured call handling setup.

The AI Receptionist is available 24/7 and operates according to the instructions defined in your account.


What the AI Receptionist Does

The AI Receptionist handles calls according to the call flows you configure in your portal. Depending on your setup, it can:

  • Greet callers and ask questions

  • Identify the purpose of the call

  • Route calls to the appropriate contact or department

  • Transfer calls to team members

  • Take and deliver messages

  • Schedule appointments

  • Send follow-up texts or notifications

All actions are controlled by the call handling rules defined in your account.

Human-Like Conversations

The AI Receptionist is designed to hold conversational interactions with callers rather than relying on simple phone tree prompts. It can respond to natural speech and continue the conversation while collecting information needed to complete the call.

Call Routing and Transfers

Calls can be routed based on the reason for the call. The AI can transfer calls to specific contacts, departments, or external numbers according to your configured call flows.

If your account also includes Human Receptionist service, calls can be routed between AI and human receptionists based on your configuration.
