How Are Receptionist Minutes Calculated?
Receptionist minutes are based on the total ring time, talk time, and transfer time—but exclude hold time. Timing is calculated using a two-step rounding process:
Step-by-Step Calculation:
Each component (ring, talk, transfer) is rounded up to the nearest second
The combined total is then rounded up to the nearest 30-second mark
Example:
Ring time: 9.1 seconds → rounded up to 10
Talk time: 14.5 seconds → rounded up to 15
Transfer time: 9.6 seconds → rounded up to 10
Total: 35 seconds

Timing Rules by Call Type
Inbound Calls: Timing starts when the call rings into Abby and ends when the receptionist disconnects or transfers the call.
Outbound Calls: Timing includes the full connection time, even for wrong numbers or voicemails.
